About Twelve Pearls

Twelve Pearls was created to make the beauty and uniqueness of pearls available to all.

The idea for Twelve Pearls was thought up 6 long years ago in 2007. Since then we have been researching pearl farming, finding the very best suppliers and creating a beautiful website that we hoped would represent a high class, but still 'boutique-y' jewellery store where people would feel confident in ordering our beautiful pearl jewellery.

We are owned and operated in Melbourne, Australia. We offer free shipping to anywhere in Australia!

For added confidence when purchasing one of our beautiful pearl strands and selected stud earrings, pendants & rings, you will receive an appraisal from a graduate of the GIA (Gemmological Institute of America) which is the world's foremost authority on diamonds, coloured stones and pearls. This valuation comes complete with a detailed description and a retail replacement value.

Twelve Pearls feel it is so important to offer these underwater gems at such affordable prices because in history and still today, pearls represent purity, modesty, chastity and symbolise a happy marriage, lasting love and happiness. Pearls are so beautiful, but sadly retail outlets have seemed to get away with overpricing them for a long long time. Hopefully we will help to change that here in Australia! Healthy competition is good for everybody!

We take care when individually creating each strand for our clients. We thread all of our pearl strands on twin silk thread and knot in between each pearl. This ensures that if your strand does break, you will not lose all of your pearls! Knotting between each pearl also protects the pearls from rubbing against each other, possibly damaging the nacre. Good quality pearl strands will always be individually knotted between each pearl.

One of the amazing characteristics of pearls, is that they have been 'in vogue' for thousands of years. How could you go wrong!
